What’s the smartest thing your dog has ever done?
I'm not sure if this would qualify but one night about 3 in the morning, while my mother was visiting, I took the dogs outside.
We had to walk downstairs, I usually carried my Jack Russell, and my Canaan Dog would try and race me down the steps.
She didn't clear me and made me fall on the step, unfortunately, I also sat on the Jack.
As I cradled the Jack in my arms, the Canaan Dog didn't move off the step, instead, she would look at both of us, with her head bowed, it was like she was saying I'm sorry.
I got up and took them outside, and the amazing thing is, my Canaan Dog never ran up the stairs, if someone was on the stairs, and certainly she never cut in front of me for as long as she lived.
To be honest, I have never met someone who was so sorry for what they did wrong and never repeated it again, even I can't say I haven't done that, I learned a lot from that dog.
